Bois de Boulogne, the huge forest/park to the east of Paris is very well worth a visit. It is HUGE however (4 times larger than Central park, they say) so you'd have to make a pick of where to go. I chose to take the metro line 2 to Porte Dauphine and enter the park there, go down to the lakes (Lac Inf?rieur and Lac Superieur) and then down along the racetrack to Porte D'Auteuil. In Lac Inferieur there are boats to hire and its a very calm and beautiful surrounding. Unfortunately I missed Roland Garros on my way out, should have gone past that too, but my promenade still took a good few hours in the burning heat.

Address: Bois de Boulogne
Directions: West of Paris' Arrondissments. Metros: Porte Maillot, Porte Dauphine and Porte d'Autauil for example
