"City of the Dead" City of the Dead Ghost Tour Tip by bcmcbeth

This may seem like a cheesy tourist thing, but it really was a night well spent. Thier web site states that the tour:

"Leaves the Royal Mile and winds through the sinister, dark 'closes' of Edinburgh's historic Old Town and into Greyfriar's Graveyard. It then enters the permenantly locked Covenanters Prison which contains the Black Mausoleum - site of the famous MacKenzie Poltergeist.
These tours are the only possible access to the area."

This tour is educational, funny, and a bit scary. Wear your walking shoes, because you do some trudging through a graveyard.

The best part is, you can stop by the pub right outside the graveyard and enjoy a pint with the tour guide. Dont forget to stop by the statue of Grey Friar's Bobby ( which some might recall the Disney film based on this Edinburgh legand).

Dont miss this tour. It is a must for visitors to Edinburgh.

Address: St. Giles Cathedral
Directions: On the Royal Mile near the Mercat Cross.

Tours leave at 8:30, 9:15, 10:00, and midnight.
