Six of us are picked up to go to the helicopter place. At the pad, David chats up the ground staff, to ensure the front seat. There are five of us in the back. The flight is awesome. The pilot flies over the falls in both directions so we can all have a good view, as well as over our hotel (you can't miss it, it is almost next door to the falls).

The falls are long and thin dropping into a narrow gorge. The spray rises over 500 metres and creates some beautiful rainbows. We even see three elephants and a herd of buffalo in thee park on the way back to base.

Normally they have two helicopters running every 15 minutes all day with over 20 flights a day - today we are the only flight. Tourism has been badly affected by Mugabe's antics. It's great for us of course, but such a shame for the local economy.

There is a commercail video available for sale at the end of the flight - they filmed us boarding the helicopter, as well as chatting on the ground prior to the flight, and tagged it on to a film of the falls. It is not particularly good quality and very expensive at US$35. Not surprisingly, nobody buys.
