"Not Recommended During Summer" Best Western Big Bear Chateau Tip by galletti

Best Western Big Bear Chateau, Big Bear Lake: 537 reviews and 0 photos

Our family went up in July and had 3 guest rooms and 2 suites between us. The hotel would have been very nice if the air conditioner worked or the pool was even slightly heated. Most of the staff was nice except one moody front desk lady and one uncooperative assistant manager. The assistant manager recommended not to go there in the summer when we complained about our rooms being stifling hot. The restaurant/room service closes at 9:30pm. Make sure you have everything you need from the maid service because we were stuck without pillows for our couch bed by 10pm. Most importantly, watch your step. We all took a turn slipping on the wet, marble floor in the lobby. The front desk lady made us feel like it was our fault for not heeding the obscure caution signs. I would try the Northwoods Inn next time.

Unique Qualities: Small pool, surrounded by trees, no wheel-chair access/have to carry luggage up and down stairs.
