  Viking experience - Hafnarfjordur

Ok, if you want the "Viking" experience while in Iceland, to get your fill of traditional dress and services, the Fjorukrain is your place. This restaurant is constructed as a traditional Viking long house and has all the staff dressed up in traditional tunics and medieval viking garb. There are even mock Viking "ceremonies". It is a lot of fun and worth the trip. There is also an attached hotel, small museum and gift shop.

Favorite Dish: The food was really great here. Served in wooden trays in traditional ways the menu offers many different choices. There is a Viking Feast which includes many Icelandic delicacies of fish and vegetables. It is an all encompassing meal with starters, mains, and dessert. Many restaurants in Iceland will offer a "Viking" type menu item but none has as much character as the Fjorukrain.
