  Sultan Mosque
by Rodan44

Kampong Glam was once a fishing village and the seat of Malay royalty in Singapore. The recently restored remains of the original Istana (Sultan's Palace) can still be seen there. Today, Kampong Glam is known as the Arab quarter, as it is the center of Arab Muslim culture in Singapore. The Sultan Mosque is the largest in Singapore and sports a majestic round gold dome and classic minarets. Merchants around the mosque specialize in Arab textiles, perfumes, and other crafts. There are also several restaurants that serve delicious Muslim cuisine, the most popular being the murtabak, a savory grilled bread filled with mutton and egg and served with a rich curry sauce.

Address: Arab Street
Directions: Take the MRT to Bugis Station (EW12) and walk along Victoria Street towards Arab Street.
