The metro in Prague is really easy to use, there are trams as well, but we always seemed to use the metro instead.
There are only 3 lines and if you are visiting the tourist areas its likely that you will only use the green and red anyway.
Tickets need to validated in the yellow machines before travel.
If you hate heights be prepared that the escalators are very high and steep...esp in Namesti Republiky (as I found out with my backpack on!)
