Cathedral of John the Baptist and John the Evangelist is the oldest church in the region. Its history starts in the first days of the town of Torun (1233) - the temple was its parish church. In 1406 fell down one of its towers - the next one reach to 52 meters height. The bell located in it is called "Tuba Dei" (Horn of God), one of the biggest bell in all the Poland (weight: 7 tons, diameter: 2,2 meters).

One of great remains of the inside of the church is a baptismal font where Nicolaus Copernicus was baptised (13th century).
