"Wat Phrom" Cambodia Things to Do Tip by keeweechic

Cambodia Things to Do: 668 reviews and 1,011 photos

Not too far away from the centre of the city is a hill known as Wat Phnom which was once a monastery on top of this hillside and built in 1372 by a rich Khmer lady named Penh who was supposed to have found four Buddha images inside a floating tree. There is now a stupa which dates from the late 1880’s which has been reconstructed from the original. On this 30 metre hill (Phnom), there are shrines dedicated to Vietnamese spirits and the Hindu god Vishnu.
