" Nefertari's Tomb" Luxor Things to Do Tip by KenBel

Luxor Things to Do: 896 reviews and 1,874 photos

In Luxor, on the Nile's East Bank, you can go visit the Valley of the Kings, Noblemen, etc.

All good and well, but in the end there is only one tomb you absolutely have to visit, cause it is not clear how much longer you'll be able to!!

Nefertari's Tomb

Pharaos had a whole lotta of wives, generally, and Nefertari was one of them, but not just any ...
First of all she was the wife of Ramesses II, one of the best-known Pharaos of Ancient Egypt.
Secondly, not only was she his wife, she was his favourite
Have you heard of the Abu Simbel Temples? Well these were actually built as a tomb for Ramesses II ... oh, but I said templeSSS, yup, the second one, a little smaller, but still quite impressive, he had built for his favourite wife, being none other than his beloved Nefertari

Now, why is that you absolutely have to go see her tomb?
Well, because for some reason, her tomb was so incredibly well preserved that when you get inside, you'll think it was painted yesterday!!! It's an absolutely, positively mind-boggling experience!!

The Tricky Part?
Well they only let in about 100 visitors a day, and tickets have to be bought that same day, so you have to make sure you get up at the break of dawn to go stand in line for one or you'll miss it!!
