Ta Keo is a mountain temple just east of Angkor Thom on the Petit Circuit. This mountain is rather large and makes for a nice climb to get away from the tourists and the Cambodian hawkers. Once you get to the top, it is a very peaceful place to relax.

Ta Keo was built between the end of 10th century and the first years of the 11th Century, but was never completed. Historians believe it was struck by lightning, and though the main construction was finished, the artistic details were left unfinished. There are five main towers that rise about 22 meters above the earth, and this is one of the few temples made of huge sandstone blocks.
