Helsinki Off The Beaten Path: 249 reviews and 392 photos

Take a walk in Hietaniemi cemetery. You can find graves of many important Finnish persons. F.ex. many former Finnish presidents have been buried here (Paasikivi and Kekkonen). There' s also graves of the 3.000 soldiers who died in the Second World War.

There are Orthodox, Islamic and Jewish sections in the cemetery.

There are many squirrels which sometimes acts like lonatics (I'm scared of those squirrels).

You can get to the cemetery by tram number 8 or by bus number 55A.
