Local small: "Don't miss fried limuloid" Ha Long Restaurant Tip by Aliceinhn

Ha Long Restaurants: 25 reviews and 27 photos

On the way to Cua Ong Temple, 40 km from Halong Bay, we saw some strange things were cooked in a small restaurant. This stuff looks like a small tortoise and they are always in pair, holding each other. The owner looks completely like a sailor said that's limuloid - symbol of LOVE:-), in Vietnamese: SAM. This brushy bearded guy said he can cook limuloids in many ways. So we tried fried one, with limuloid eggs. Hmmm, very tasty indeed. The eggs can be compared to caviar, even better. All together cost us only 30.000 VND (less than 2 USD).

Favorite Dish: Fried or grilled limuloid with eggs. The grilled one has a very good flavour, next time we will try. Yammm
