"Day trip 2 out of Oslo: The Skibladner steamer" Oslo Things to Do Tip by Saagar

The Skibladner paddle steamer plies lake Mjøsa some 80 km north of Oslo. The easiest thing would be to take a train to Eidsvoll and board Skibladner there and get off at a place of your liking (Gjovik, for the short trip and train ride back to Oslo; Hamar, also a short train ride back to Oslo, or all the way up to Lillehammer, and you could still catch a train back to oslo within the day). Or, take the train north to Lillehammer/Hamar/Gjovik and the steamer south to Eidsvoll. Either way, there should be an opportuity for a nice outing from Oslo. In the high season in July ensure you get a ticket beforehand.
See my tip in my Lillehammer pages on Skibladner for more details.
Directions: North of Oslo and just north of Oslo Gardermoen airport is Eidsvoll, is the starting/ end point of Skibladner. Short walk only from the train station to the pier.
