"The Old Town area - the Warsaw Uprising" Monument to the Ghetto Uprising Tip by adin

Not exactly within the Old Town walls, but not far away and a must see.
If you leave the Old Town through Dluga st. to the corner of Miodowa st. you can see the monument of the Warsaw Uprising (Aug 1944). It is just by the blue glass monster (the supreme court of Poland) and I personally think the monument is wrongly overshadowed by that building.
On the opposite side of Dluga, just on the other corner, is the cathedral of the Polish Armed forces.
On the corner of the other side of Miodowa you can see the sewage point that was used to escape from the German siege.
Many, many sites all over the place and the whole city have memorial plates commemorating people who died at that time of the Nazi occupation.
