A Slow Day in Downtown Gatlinburg

Both the streets and sidewalks of Gatlinburg are virtually always crowded. Although there are several crosswalks where pedestrians have the right of way, motorists are often distracted by the sights.

A good buddy of mine from college days lost his mother when she was struck and killed while crossing the street in Gatlinburg. Drive and WALK defensively. Don't take a vacation from common sense and safety.

This picture is the of the Gatlinburg Parkway during March - between skiing season and the blooming of wildflowers - the least crowded month of the year.
