"Mirador Del Rio" Isla de Lanzarote Things to Do Tip by mazzap

At the north end of the island of Lanzarote is a look-out point called Mirador Del Rio. It is 479 metres above ground level. The views over the neighbouring island of La Graciosa are simply stunning! The islands own famous artist Cesar Manrique designed the conversion of what was a former artillery post into what is there now. A hollow was dug out of the mountain, a restaurant built inside and two domes were erected on top and then covered with soil. There is a small admission charge.

Make sure you pick a clear day and don't forget your binoculars!

An insider tip! - Drive on past the entrance for about 100 metres and see the same view (with NO safety barriers mind!) for free!! There is even a field in which you can easily park whilst you enjoy the awesome view!
