b.b.'s: "stylish good eats" b.b.'s Tip by grimss

b.b.'s, like Biscotti's, its sister restaurant in Avondale, is always a good meal. The decor is streamlined and stylish--part of the new breed of "concept" restaurants in JAX (i.e. the owners brought in interior decorators, went for a Elle Decor-ish cohesive look), something we haven't always had in this town. The menu is well-conceived, with great specials in the upper $teens, but also a fine selection of lesser-priced salads, gourmet pizzas and yummy sandwiches. Good wine selection, great desserts, very attractive bar area. This is definitely a see-and-be-seen crowd of the well-heeled--one, thankfully, where the kitchen is also remarkably consistent and the service is professional.
Very close to downtown and San Marco.
Favorite Dish: Any of the specials are always delicious, but I particularly like the crabcake sandwich, which is served with a nicely tossed salad.
Address: 1019 Hendricks Ave.
Price Comparison: more expensive than average
