  Great Egret With Fish
by catalysta

Lettuce Lake is a slough covered with Swamp Lettuce. It provides an extensive habitat for alligators, turtles, birds, fish, water snakes etc. There are benches and shelters along the boardwalk for you to relax and enjoy the show.
Wood Storks nest here in breeding season, and all manner of large wading birds feast on the amphibians, fish & insects that abound. The birds were so nonchalant about visiting humans, it reminded me of the Galapagos!

Directions: Follow the trail backwards to get to Lettuce Lake a bit faster.
