  Praca de Giraldo, Evora
by freya_heaven

Evora is a pretty UNESCO walled town near the Spanish boarder, east of Lisbon

Evora is the Alentejo region capital & main market trading centre, The white washed walled old town has a very moorish feel to it, inside the wall there is a maze of cobbled passageways & streets. The Photos of the Praca de Giraldo is a typical steet scene in Evora.

There are plenty of places to keep a tourist happy here for a couple of days or more, including the Se (cathedral) dating back to 1186, Roman Temple, gems of the past around seemingly every corner, museums..............

Praca de Giraldo in the photo has seen some gory events including the execution of Fernando, the Duke of Braganca and the public burning of people in the Inquisition

East of Lisbon, near the Spanish Boarder
