Riginal's Turkish Cuisine, Bottom of Hope Street, roundf the corner from the Arches; and Diablero's, Just off Sauchiehall Street, opposite TheTemple nghtclub
Me and my mates are in the middle of a long running discussion about the differing qualities of the produce of these two rival fast-food establishments. On the one hand, you go to Riginal's and when you ask for a large portion of Chips, cheese and chilli sauce, you get a LARGE portion of chips, cheese and chilli sauce! The chili is tomato-ey, the chese always suitably melted over the chips, and it certainly does fill a hole.
On the other hand, Diabero's offer a smaller portion, but with more love put into their chilli sauce recipe. It's sweet, sour, garlicky, moreish, in fact I'm salivating just thinking about how long it's been since I've eaten from there.
Then, you've got the comcept of distance. Diablero's was always the handier of the two for late night munchies as we lived on Sauchiehall Street and it was just a wee bit up the road, but it would have been a good fifteen minute hike to Riginal's.
So when it comes down to it, the decision is made on mental state, sense of adventurousness and current location. The ideal would have been a combination of the best qualities of both establishments served by a topless lovely in my bedroom, but we can onlyy dream.
The best solution that we could come up with was that, yep you probably guessed it, we have both, one after the other: Leave the Subbie at 4am, go to Riginal's for some of the LARGE stuff, and then eat them on the hoof on our way to Diablero's. Get in!!!!
Favorite Dish: Chips, Cheese and Chilli Sauce
Directions: One by the Clyde, the other in Studentsville (see above)
