Bukhara is the hometown of the great Sheikh Bahautdin Nakshbandi, who was the leader of sufism and the author of religious warrant "Nakshbandi". Architectural complex of Bahautdin Nakshbandi is the burial tomb of Nakshbandi. it is well known holy place in Muslim world.
Pilgrims from across Uzbekistan and many foreign countries come here to pray. There are many women who are also allowed to pray in the central mosque.
There are small minaret and the Stone of Desire (a black slab beneath which Nakshbandi is buried) which really attract attention.
You can find there a tree where people bind little pieces of fabrics with their wishes.
You can drink and take saint water, which is very pure and health-giving.
This holy place is of great importance for people, it's considered that if you come there 7 times it will be equal to Hadj to Mekka.

Directions: About 25 minutes by car from Bukhara.
