"Wildlife" Top 5 Page for this destination Uluru National Park (Ayers Rock) Things to Do Tip by bluesmama

by bluesmama

Both times I was here we saw loads of spinifex pigeons but the most exciting thing was a big goanna Michelle and I saw in 97. Michelle spotted it first and did the Macauley Culkin and just screamed and scared the living daylights out of me, so she made me scream as well (frightened of her) - I hadn't even seen the animal. When I finally saw him he was just looking at us like we were the 2 dumbest creatures he ever saw! Can't blame him really...
This was on the left path from the carpark, maybe they live in that little cave...?
