Mountain biking on this trail is approximately a 35 - 40 minute ride if you go all of the way around.

Start out in Mont Clare right over the river from Phoenixville. Across the street from the Produce Junction is a one lane entrance that goes down along the canal. Follow this road to the end, and park by a foot bridge that goes over the canal. (Or you could park earlier along the side of the canal and ride down to this point - which is what I prefer to do). Then ride into the woods! The path begins a bit rocky, especially once you reach the Black Rock Dam. After you pass the dam, you will be on a nice flat path, with very few technical rocks and roots to maneuver your bike over.

There are a couple of streams that you obviously have to get off the bike to carry your bike over.

Once you reach the end, you'll appear to be in some sort of park. Don't stop here!!

Continue to the right up the road by a cow farm. Make a left onto the real road, go over a one lane bridge, and make a left at the stop sign to go over a bridge that crosses the schyukill river.

Immediately after you cross the river, make a left into a parking lot. At the opposite end of the parking lot is the entrance to the trail again.

Right now, they are doing some sort of construction that you may have to carry your bike over to get back on the path.

This path will continue on the otherside of the River that you just came up on. You will eventually pass the dam again, this time on your left.

Once you reach the end of the trail, climb the hill (carrying your bike) up to the train tracks.

Don't cross the tracks.

Instead, follow them across the little bridge, and there will be a clearing on the right full of gravel.

Cross this clearing and it will take you back to the bridge that will take you directly back to Mont Clare.

Make the left onto the small road that you parked your car on.

You just did a circle!!

Equipment: One bottle of water will suffice. This isn't a difficult ride.
