  Katherine canyon in the gorge

Katherine Gorge is a actually a series of 13 gorges seperated by rocks and rapids.
I went on a boat trip here and saw a couple of the gorges. You have to get out of the boat between the gorges, walk over the rocks and into another boat to get further and further into the gorges.
Our guide showed us some aboriginal rock and explained to us about the local aboriginals. (He was part aboriginal himself) also told us lots about the different plants and animals that live there.
The hostels in Katherine can help you find the tour you want.
