This plaza was inaugurated in 1910 when Manuel Guiraldes was Mayor. Guiraldes was the son was Ricardo Guiraldes who wrote Don Segundo Sombra. Walking around the plaza you can see many of the same sights you might come across in a big city plaza; people selling things, food stands, couples sitting romantically on benches and people smoking weed. The photo was taken standing on the Monumento a los Dos Congreses and looking down Avenida De Mayo.
