"The Cathedral" Cathedral Tip by mvtouring

Cathedral, Salzburg: 96 reviews and 163 photos

I love visiting cathedrals and lighting candles in them, asking the angels to protect me whilst travelling. This one, is particularly lovely, light and a real delight to visit. As you walk through the arches leading from Residenzplatz into Domplatz, you are bombarded by the greatness of this lovely church. Max Reinhardt chose it in August of 1920 as the setting for what has become the annual summer production of Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Jedermann (Everyman). This is where Mozart was christened, and where he later served as organist from 1779 to 1781. Absolutely fascinating

Directions: In the heart of the Old City - you can see the steeples from all over Salzburg
