Beautiful gardens in the centre of Cape Town's historical part.
The gardens have been established by the VOC and were intended to grow vegetables and fruits to supply the passing ships. It were mostly slaves who worked in the gardens.

In the second half of the 18th century they stopped growing fruits and vegetables and the gardens became more of a parc. You can see fascinating old trees and beautiful flowers all over.

Address: Governement Av., Cape Town
