All this and a view to boot - I'm going back!

I rocked up to Malcesine having failed to get a B&B I was after over the internet. Thus it was that I parked in the main piazza and headed for the waterfront, ever optimistically.
On the northern side of a small marina I enquired at a hotel but the manager not only had no accommodation but was disinterested as well. He pointed me away from the waterfront, even though I suggested a hotel on the southern side.

Unique Qualities: Thus it was that I ignored his advice and went there anyway. What a great move! The staff there were fantastic. Could not have been more helpful. The breakfast just kept on coming, my mate Tony even bringing things I hadn't asked for.
After all that I had the setting. Right over the lake. On a clear day it would be stunning, when I was there it was only wonderful, the winter haze of the fires obscuring much of the landscape.
I paid a miserly 40 euros a night, but you can expect to pay more as I got "just opened for the season" rates.

Address: Piazza Pallone
Comparison: about average

Price: US$40-80
