  The Minderbroedersgang
by Pavlik_NL

"Minderbroeders", literally translated "Lesser brothers" is an religious order in which the men place themselves lower then average. The last will be the first, might be something they believe in very stongly. Their lifes are very simple, but their house used to be right underneath the Saint Rombouts tower. It was founded in 1620 by Anna Debleken, widow of a the wealthy noble Jacob Ouarre. This is also written on one of the plaques on either side of the entrance gate with it's heavy horn shaped upper part. Now-a-days the complex is used partly as a convention centre and there is also a cosy "fondue" restuarant.

Directions: After crossing the Melaan and the L. Denijnplein in their length, right into the "Minderbroedersgang".
