hells gate and Tri boro bridges
by chodearm

This park sits in Northern Queens in Astoria. The park has a pool there that is tremendous, people say the 2nd largest in the country but who knows what that means. The Tri Boro Bridge is there o the south end and cutting through the middle is the Hells Gate bridge. I believe its called Hells Gate cause some boats have gone down in the river below due to swirling currents. This park has a disgusting but interesting feature. Walk to the shoreline and look over to the waters edge. If it is low tide be quiet and you will hear glass moving over the shore with every little wave crash. If it wasn't completely covered in broken glass this sound could be kinda beautiful sounding like wind chimes of sorts. But no its broken bottles! So safe!

Address: Astoria, Queens, New York City
Directions: N train to Astoria Blvd. Walk along Hoyt till the end keeping the bridge on your left. You will come to the park.
