"Catch the Ferry" Hallstatt Transportation Tip by rexvaughan

The train to Hallstatt stops across the lake from the town but you can catch the ferry for about 2 Euros. I think it meets most trains and runs until about 18:30 but for your return check the schedule. The TI or hotel should be able to help and as I recall there is a schedule posted near the dock. What a great way to start your visit to this small but superb town!
