"Phosphate on the left" Province de Safi Things to Do Tip by JLBG

Province de Safi Things to Do: 4 reviews and 8 photos

The harbor has been specially built to export the phosphate ore or the phosphate fertilizers, the main income of Morocco. The whole coast is rugged and has very few natural shelters. This was the place phosphate coming from a hundred kilometers quarries inland could be easily brought. There was no shelter. They built a sheltered harbor from nothing with huge jetties.
