This yellow, Baroque house was first built somewhen in 16th or 17th century, I suppose. Hmm... I don't know its history.

But I got to know that Kedainiai was first mentioned in 1372 as a fishing settlement by Panavezis River. Then in 1590 Kedainiai got town rights. The best period in its history was in 17th and 18th century when it fell to the Radvilas (Radziwills), one of the most influential families of that time. The Radvilas were supporters of the reformation, and they established a Reformation center in Kedainiai.
Calvinists and religious emigrants from Scotland and other European states took shelter from the Jesuits just there in Kedainiai. Did they build this house on my picture? I am not sure... although the former Calvinist church was close to that house. I still know Scottish houses only from... Eurodisneyland :-((( and they looked different there.

The next great historical period for Kedainiai is coming... now, I do believe. Good luck :-).

Address: Didzioji g., Kedainiai
Directions: On the northern end of a main street if Kedainiai called Didzioji just before Nevezis River.
