The dazzling fine architecture of the town hall
by Pavlik_NL

When walking along the Befferstraat your eyes will be automatically drawn to the beautiful and fine gothic works of a large building. This is the backside of Mechelen's town hall and we will soon be arriving on the "Grote Markt" (Grand market) the centre of the medieval and present town.
This side of the building was actually only finished in the 20th century. Architect is mr. "Kelderman" that never saw it like this. In a opening one can see the statue of Charles V or one can walk under the arcade supported by 19 columns.

Directions: Through the Befferstraat onto the square.
