"Beach chairs!" Puerto Rico Local Custom Tip by laura4n8

Puerto Rico Local Customs: 53 reviews and 46 photos

While on the beach in Condado (just off the intersection of Condado Avenue and Ashford Road) a man renting beach lounge chairs approached us. The chairs were $3 a piece for the ENTIRE day -- a great deal! We paid for two and the man drug them to the spot of our choosing. Throughout the morning he would come over to us, motion that we were now in the shade (or soon would be) and would move our chairs again. This man moved our chair -- voluntarily -- THREE TIMES! How sweet is that?! It was like we had our own little porter out there. He also sold water that you could pay for and have him keep in his cooler until you wanted it. That way it stay cool until you were ready to quench your thirst.
