"HALIFAX CLOCK" Halifax Citadel National Historic Site Tip by hevbell

  Halifax clock
by hevbell

Some consider this four-sided clock to be the symbol of Halifax. It was designed by the father of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Kent who was head of the garrison at Halifax for a time, to keep both the garrison and the townspeople punctual. It sits at the bottom of Citadel Hill where it has been since arriving from England in 1803.
