The statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II is just in front of the train-station " statione Centrale " and it might help you to find your way to the leaning tower:

You simply go from the station to the statue and go always straigt on, untill you get to the river Arno.
At the river you turn to the left, untill you get to "Santa Maria della Spina" , then you pass the river by the next bridge and go straight on again - along Via Roma - in order to get directely to "Piazza dei Miracoli" and the leaning tower.
