"The proper way to carry your purse" Spain Local Custom Tip by Faracy

This is another sage piece of advice I offer you because I know what can happen if you don't..
When in Spain, be very careful with your purse. I've been pickpocketed twice, and I've been lucky that they didn't get my whole purse.
Carry a purse on a short enough strap that it fits right under your arm at all times. Don't carry everything in your purse either... I recommend having a spare ATM card in your suitcase, and also not carrying it in your wallet in case your wallet alone gets stolen. Spain is not dangerous, but petty crime is rampant.. the theives are very good.. professional. Even my husband, who is so Spanish that his face should be on a coin has been robbed. No one is immune... Be careful, but do take these precautions.. you won't regret it.
Also, always ALWAYS keep your valuables, purse ect. in front of you on the table, or in eye sight when you are eating. Carry a few copies of your passport just in case... don't get paranoid, but be careful...
