One of Cape Cod's hundreds of harbor villages

If you mention Cape Cod to an American, they're likely to think images of small New England cottages, white beaches, lush ponds, Pilgrims, lobsters, whalers, the Kennedys, small quaint towns and lighthouses, all of which are true. Along with the neighboring islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, the Cape Cod area is one of the nation's best known vacation centers and is perhaps the true epitome of the New England Yankee. Everyone from Henry David Thoreau, to Herman Melville, to Kurt Vonnegut have written extensively about it.

Although crowded in the summertime, Cape Cod doesn't lose its charm and continues its laid-back image year-round. It's worth to experience one of the U.S.'s most loved areas.
