Piazza dei Signori, also known as Piazza Dante, is the heart of the old core of the town. It is square where the major administrative palaces of medieval Verona are situated. Here you can see Palazzo del Comune, Palazzo del Capitano, Loggia del Consiglio and Palazzo degli Scaligeri which was the seat of the Scala Family before it was trransfered to Castelvecchio.
The monument to great poet Dante Alighieri stands in the central position of the square, therefore it is coloquialy called Piazza Dante.
