"BiJia Mountain" Jinzhou Things to Do Tip by Yso

Jinzhou Things to Do: 2 reviews and 0 photos

BiJia mountain (bijia Shan) is in fact a hill rather than a mountain. It's probably the most popular destination in Jinzhou.
The hill is in the sea and is joined to the land by a short causeway that you can use at low tide (at high tide you have to take a power boat which costs about 10 Yuan a person). Even when the tide is coming in you can still walk across. There are people to sell you flip flops for 5Yuan a pair. I would say that the walk across is about the best thing there!

Bijia has been developed for tourists. it costs 30 Yuan to get in, and the path up the mountain has been covered in concrete steps. At the top (there are 3 summits) there are a couple of temples and a tower made entirelyo f stone (even the doors are huge blocks of stone).
From the top you can have an outstanding view of Jinzhou harbour.
Because of the huge popularity of Bijia (it was packed the day that I was there) they are now building a footbridge to the island/hill. The completely destroys any natural attraction that was remaining...

Address: Near the docks
Directions: It's 37km from the centre of Jinzhou. To get a but, come out of the train station and turn right along the road. There are loads of minibuses waiting to take you there. Cost of the fare is 5 Yuan per person.
