Bhaktapur is inhabited mostly by Newars, one of Nepal's cultural groups and known for skilled artistic talent. They have their own language and of course their own food. There are tons of Newari restaurants around Bhaktapur and a simple Newari restaurant is called Bhatti, so you can basically say that word and be pointed in the direction of a local restaurant. "Bhatti kahaa chha?" is "Where is a Newari restaurant?". And of course these prices are a fraction of any tourist restaurant, don't expect to pay more than 60 N.Rs. for a full meal. There are some really nice little restaurants near the Bhimsen Mandir, and all Newari places are great for having a cup of that oh so sweet and good Nepali Tea (Chiya Nepali).

Comparison: least expensive
