The second place we stayed in at Jerusalem was opposite the outside of the Damascus Gate, so it was a thoroughfare in to the old city I used often.

The Arabic name for the Damascus Gate is Bab el-Amud (Gate of the Column), Hebrew name is Sha'ar Shechem (Nablus Gate)

In the days of Jesus it was known for the money changers who did their business at the gate, They were still doing business at the Damascus Gate when I was there.

Directions:

North east of old city walls, Jerusalem
