At rough times quickly parts of the islands disappear into the waves, but the last decades the beaches grwo wider and wider, for several kilometers already. Suddenly one found things in the sand. Stone rings that went deep into the soil. They seemed to be ancient waterpits and ... that what was left from thee disappeared village "Sier" was slowly surfacing again. Still, when anyone offers you a very cheap place to stay in the village Sier on Ameland ... I'ld think twice before paying out front. (-:
