Our room at the Tin Kim Hotel

This is a nice little hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter, just one street north of Hoan Kiem Lake. We paid US$20 per night for a big, old room with two beds, ancient (but nice) wooden furniture, and a tiny bathroom. Our room had a small balcony overlooking a street and a bia hoi. The exposed halogen lights only add to the aura and mystique of the place ;)

The hotel also operates a travel agency with trips to Halong Bay and other locations. Use caution, however, the hotel tends to charge much higher rates than the true travel agencies of the local area.

Address: 8 Hang Bac
