Miscellaneous: For a combination of firepower and weight, nothing beats the M249. It lays down tremendous amounts of lead in a very rapid cyclic rate. It is one man potable and does not require a two man crew to fire. It weighs about the same as the old M-1 Garand Rifle and uses the same ammo as the M-16. It can fire from a belt or from an M-16 clip.
For sheer volumne of fire while running this is the weapon of choice!
