Do watch out for pickpockets and do not leave your belongings laying around.Just be sensible.Spain is just as safe as England I think,you just need to use your commensense.Crime is on the increase in Costa Blanca.There has been a big increase in muggings and car thefts and burgleries on holiday homes.Some of it is down to gangs from Africa and South America and some of them have been caught.There is also lots of credit card fraud going on.Always never let your card out of your sight and be careful at hole in the wall machines.

Spain has gone up in price alot over last few years.Property is going up by 30% a year in some areas including the Costa Blanca.The cost of living has also increaded and the cost of eating out etc.Saying this its still a darn sight cheaper than England.Thats why lots of people from North Europe are retiring there.I would say that food is about a third cheaper, cars are half, drink is half and household bills are slightly cheaper.Eating out is just slighty cheaper(drinks make is abit cheaper).Electric items and furniture are about the same as England.
