  Ottoman fortress
by travelife

As the ferry advances, you get a better view of the fortress. Adjacent to Rumeli, this imposing fortress, sometimes called the "Fortress of Europe" (there is another on the Asian side) was built in 1452 in four months as the Ottomans prepared to invade Constantinople. 3,000 laborors and masons had to be employed to build this as it is said.
