India Palace: "Our favorite place in Haarlem" India Palace Tip by rexvaughan

India Palace, Haarlem: 2 reviews and 2 photos

Like so many small restaurants we encountered, this one looks ordinary on the outside, but is decorated inside in a most lovely fashion. There are numerous 3 ft tall brass Indian (Hindu deities, etc) statues and the decor is colorful and tasteful. Also, there were nice fabric tablecloths and napkins. The staff was most cordial and efficient. We were in Haarlem for 8 days and had dinner here twice since it was so good. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the dining room.

Favorite Dish: Both evenings they started us with nice rice "nacho" style chips and red and green sauces. I particularly liked the Tandoori chicken with curried peas and my wife the chicken with pineapple, almonds and coconut. We both had rice pudding for dessert and it was outstanding. Each evening with the bill, we were served a small glass of pineapple liquer. Delicious.
